In apparent defiance of UN sanctions and the spirit of the nuclear agreement with the United States, Iran unveiled a new missile during a military parade Friday that is believed to have enough range to strike Israel.

The commander of Iran’s air force, Gen. Amir Ali Hag’izadh, said,  “The missile Hormshr is a great achievement of the Iranian Ministry of Defense. The missile has a range of 2,000 km (1,242 miles) and can carry a warhead to a range of 1,800 km (1,118 miles). It is capable of carrying more than one warhead.”

Published reports said the missile was bound for the elite Revolutionary Guards Corp.

Footage of the missile was posted to the Fars News Agency twitter account:

There is no such thing as a free press in Iran, so it’s likely the footage as officially “leaked.”
