Interstate Shootings in Central Virginia

There have been two shootings on the Interstate in the last few days in central Virginia. One on I295 that lead to the pickup crashing and bursting into flames; driver died on the scene. The other on I64 near Williamsburg where the driver also crashed but died at the hospital from the GSW. At this point there isn’t much info being released by the media outlets beyond VSP asking for witnesses to come forward. Yet, somehow VSP is saying they aren’t related and there is no threat to public safety.

They could very well be road rage related incidents, or domestic disputes gone awry, but I can certainly imagine it being related to someone taking umbridge at a bumper sticker or even the driver having the “wrong look”.

Have there been any other similar cases around the country recently?
