Israeli officials say they have seized materials to make explosives from a truck that was attempting to cross into the country from the Gaza Strip, which is ruled by the Iran proxy Hamas.

The Israeli defense ministry said the truce was carrying drums of fluid that were marked as automobile lubricant. However, border forces became suspicious of the barrels.

Personnel operating a lab set up at the crossing at Kerem Shalom analyzed the substances and found the barrels to contain raw materials that could be used to make tons of explosives.

Officials with the defense ministry did not say exactly when the discovery was made, only that it happened recently.

Hamas has fought three wars with Israel since 2008, the last was in 2014.
