U.S. military on alert ahead of Trump’s expected Jerusalem announcement

The U.S. military has been placed on high alert ahead of an expected announcement by President Donald Trump that he will order the U.S. embassy moved from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem in Israel.

“The first wave of American reaction forces are reportedly already on the ground and more are waiting in the wings,” said one published report.

On Tuesday, U.S. Central Command announced that it has  “contingency plans in place” ahead of the expected announcement.

In particular, the Marine Corps has dispatched elements of its Fleet Antiterrorism Security Teams, or FAST Companies, to provide additional security at American embassies across the Middle East.
