SITUATIONAL AWARENESS
CHINA ACHIEVES OVERMATCH IN SPACE-BASED WEAPONS: China has produced a space-based hypersonic weapon with unlimited range. The weapon, part of its fractional orbital bombardment program, can attack a target from any azimuth and uses a hypersonic glide vehicle to deliver its conventional or nuclear payload to the target. Admiral Charles Richard, Commander of U.S. Strategic Command, stated, “no nation in history has ever demonstrated that capability.” The U.S currently has no defenses against China’s fractional orbital bombardment capability. – M.M.
BELARUS MOBILIZES TROOPS: The Belarusian Defense Ministry announced troop mobilizations and deployments to its southern border in response to an alleged Ukrainian buildup. First Deputy Minister of Defense of the Republic of Belarus Viktor Gulevich said, “In order to ensure the security of the Republic of Belarus in the Southern direction, units of special operations forces are deployed in three tactical areas.” – D.M.
U.S. OIL INDUSTRY COMPETING FOR WORKERS: Oil companies are reportedly competing with companies like Amazon and Target, where positions are “in air-conditioned warehouses,” to hire workers, says UTI Energy CEO Andy Hendricks. According to data published by the Bureau of Labor Statistics, worker wages in the oil field fall behind inflation. The conveniences and ease of work compared to oil field work are drawing employees to apply at places like Amazon instead, leaving a worker shortage for oil companies. – T.W.
