  • Global Rollup
    • North Korea fired ten short-range ballistic missiles into the Sea of Japan overnight. According to the South Korean Joint Chiefs of Staff, this was an unusually high volume of fire.
    • Estonia has suspected a Chinese vessel of cutting its underwater telecommunications cables for the past six months. Estonia contacted China for help with the vessel but received no response. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs claims that “competent authorities” are investigating the vessel. 
    • Brazilian President Lula da Silva recalled his ambassador to Israel in protest over the Rafah bombings. (Chile, Colombia, Jordan, Bahrain, Honduras, Turkey, Chad, South Africa, Belize, and Bolivia recalled ambassadors to Israel at the start of the war. Spain, Ireland, and Norway lost their ambassadors from Israel. Brazil now makes 14 countries that have had diplomatic relations with Israel severely hampered. Israel is rapidly losing or throwing away diplomatic relations over its war with Hamas. – J.V.)
