Alt-Observer – Daily Roll-Up For 05 February 2018

This report is a roll-up of activity from revolutionary communist, radical anarchist, fascist, and other ‘alternative’ political groups that fulfill our intelligence requirements for both the Alt-Left and Alt-Right for Monday, 5 February 2018. Activities included are from Minnesota, South Carolina, San Diego, San Fransisco, Maryland, and Sacramento.

Alt-Left:

Minnesota: Black Lives Matter and Antifa blocked light rail trains headed to the Super Bowl in Minneapolis on Sunday as a way to protest the game. Protestors wore shirts that said “You can’t play with black lives” on the front and “No more 45” on the back. (Source: http://thegatewaypundit.com/2018/02/breakingblack-lives-matter-antifa-block-trains-super-bowl-stadium-video/)

San Diego: An alleged white nationalist group called Bordertown Patriots held a demonstration at San Diego’s Chicano Park. About 700 counter-protestors arrived at the park, which led to the police having to separate the two groups. Three people were arrested after counter-protestors began throwing eggs at the patriot group. (Source: https://enoughisenough14.org/2018/02/04/3-arrested-after-nationalist-group-holds-demonstration-in-chicano-park/)

Alt-Right:

San Diego: According UC San Diego department logs, members of the white nationalist group Identity Evropa disrupted an Ethnic studies class and the Black Resource Center at UC San Diego. According to witnesses, they entered the classroom, sat down, watched most of the lecture, took notes, flashed their Identity Evropa badges, and then left. (Analyst Comment: this is the second time in recent weeks that members of Identity Evropa have been involved in this particular form of campus protest. It appears that the group is becoming increasingly active, growing in numbers, and becoming more confident due to their heightened activities such as scouting universities, putting up flyers, and even hanging banners over bridges all over the US.) (Source: http://ucsdguardian.org/2018/01/29/white-supremacist-group-disrupts-ethnic-studies-class-black-resource-center/)

Notable Activities:

San Fransisco: A rally against upcoming immigration raids took place at the ICE headquarters in San Fransisco. An organizer for the rally stated that “We will build a movement to defend our immigrant brothers and sisters, to stop these raids, to stop these ICE [agents] from coming into our communities.” (Source: https://refusefascism.org/2018/02/05/el-tecolote-rally-against-planned-immigration-raids-takes-place-at-ice-headquarters/)

Maryland: Maryland County passed a resolution that requires all schools within its jurisdiction to hold a “Black Lives Matter Week of Action” so that students can learn about and discuss the BLM movement. The following is an excerpt from the resolution regarding it’s purpose, goals, and causes:
